Start with the Basics: Fluids & Filters
We always start with the basics, because your engine, transmission, and cooling system are only as strong as the fluids inside them.
- Engine oil: Check level and color. Milky or sludgy oil? You might have a deeper issue.
- Coolant: Make sure it’s topped off and in good condition. Overheating on a mountain pass is no joke.
- Transmission & transfer case fluid: Especially important for long highway drives or trail use in 4-Low.
- Brake fluid: Low or discolored fluid affects stopping power.
- Air filter: Dusty trails? Start clean to keep your engine breathing freely.
